The CFU Board is pleased to announce that the stadium capacity has been increased after a number of important works have been carried out at the Lookers Vauxhall Stadium.
Last December the club were advised of a reduction in capacity to 4,168, but at a recent meeting the Safety Advisory Group and the Council have agreed to increase this number to 4,959.The CFU and our volunteers have been working hard to refurbish the stadium ever since we got the keys to the ground but in recent months have really stepped up their efforts.
Among the items of work which have been carried out are: improvements to the rear of the West Stand; the upgrading of the emergency lighting system; sandblasting and repainting of the access steps in each stand and revising and updating our internal safety policies and procedures to improve standards and ensure they are fit for purpose. More recently there has been a complete repaint of the Blues Bar, and new fencing erected around the smoking area thanks to money donated by the Away Travel.
We are now working on getting a new PA system in the coming months, which will hopefully allow the SAG and the Council to move us back nearer to our full capacity of 5,600. Following this, we are then looking to renew our CCTV system.
The Board would like to thank all of our volunteers for your efforts in helping us to complete these works, as we couldn’t manage without your help.
