The board of Chester FC are very pleased to announce that both Laurence Kirby and Steve Harvey have joined the clubs new Operations board from 1st July 2014, having been duly elected by the current CFU board.
Laurence, who is known to CFU members currently as our Financial Controller, will take on the role of Financial Director and will have overall responsibility for all of the financial aspects of our football club and will continue to strengthen controls and reporting within the financial team that will ensure our sustainability now and in future years.
Steve joins us through our connections with our club’s law firm, Hillier McKeown based in Chester, who are also sponsors of Chester FC. He was responsible along with Steve Ashton and Chris Pilsbury for negotiating our improved league starting position back in 2010. Steve strengthens the operations board with both legal and football knowledge including player and manager contracts. He is a partner in his law firm so also possesses sound business acumen.
The board continue to search for a board member with retail and commercial experience to further strengthen the portfolio of the operations board, anyone interested should apply to firstname.lastname@example.org.
Both appointments are subject to satisfying the FA fit and proper persons test.
