Update from Mike Poole

Thank you to everyone who attended the launch night. I think the night was very successful and showed that there is unity and passion among the fans of Chester City.  So what happens next?  Click on ‘Read More’ for the full article.

The CFU working party are meeting again on Wednesday night to agree next steps. There are a few things we need to sort out e.g. we were fortunate that another 55 or so members signed up on Thursday night and they all need to be contacted. Also, further work needs to be done to arrange back-office stuff like insurance, online membership applications, Paypal donations and so on.

We will also be doing further work on the Junior Blues, issuing CFU membership cards, arranging our Legends Night (for those who haven’t bought a ticket, they are only £8 and all profits go to CFU. This really will be a cracking night). We will also be reviewing all the points raised at the meeting and formnally responding to any unanswered questions.

Building up a contingency fund is paramount. The Legends Night will be one of many fundraisers, but we will also be soliciting donations. Please consider giving a fiver or tenner a month to CFU or as much as you feel comfortable with.

As promised, we will be sending out notice of election for positions on the CFU Board. All positions are open and I can absolutely guarantee that nothing has been pre-determined in any way. Please consider putting your name forward – we need to maintain the momentum with CFU and can only do this with a passionate team in place.

On a personal note, I will not be putting my name forward for any position. On 1st December I start a new job in York. My house is going on the market next week and the move is permanent. I will be signing up for the Exiles and supporting CFU all the same.

Mike.

Chairman, CFU working party.
