Happy New Year from CFU

City Fans United would like to wish all members a very Happy New Year, and hope that you all enjoyed your festivities.

A year ago, Chester FC were sitting on top of the Evo-Stik First Division North having enjoyed a successful 9 months since efforts to reform the Club had began. the last 12 months has since Chester FC go from strength to strength, a maiden Championship win completed in April in front of over 2,300 fans at a small town in Yorkshire, which was followed by a unique bus parade around the City of Chester, and promotion parties throughout May.

The hard work on the pitch continued, and Neil Young and his management team have led the team into top spot for a second successive Christmas holiday period, with all efforts now concentrating on securing a second successive promotion, this time in to the Conference League system.

Efforts off the pitch in the last 12 months have also seen the Club demonstrate it’s commitment to the Community, with links aplenty being forged with several groups and charities from the local area, and the amount of youngsters now attending home matches – and joining our travelling support – has been incredible.

2011 also saw the creation of four Youth Teams, with the Chester FC Youth, Under 16s, under 13s, and recently the Under 11s was set up with dedicated coaches for each age group.

The first year or Chester FC saw a profit of over £100,000 – an amazing feat, and as owners of the Club, City Fans United members can take a bow, with many members volunteering their time and effort for their Club, wanting to take it to the next level.

2012 will be about doing just that, many new initiatives will be launched by both City Fans United and Chester FC – all aimed at developing the Club in the Community as much as possible.

Last season’s successful promotion campaign was helped by the amazing support given by you, the members of CFU, and now is the time for us all to throw as much support as possible to Neil Young, his management team, and of course the players of Chester FC. Together as one, we can achieve the second successive promotion, and really take the Club to the next level.

Chester FC. Our City, Our Community, Our Club.
