One Year on…

Today is March 10th 2011.

 

12 months ago to the very date, Chester City Football Club ceased to exist after the club was liquidated in the High Court in London due to an unpaid tax bill of £26,000.

 

The future of football in the City of Chester was at great risk, the club which had entertained thousands for 125 years was now on its knees, and the Deva Stadium gates were closed.

 

Chester City FC was flatlined.

Members Meeting to take place Tuesday 25th January @ 6.30pm

The first City Fans United members meeting of the year will take place in the Blues Bar at the Exacta Stadium on Tuesday 25th January, commencing at 6.30pm.

 

The Blues Bar will be open from 6pm on the evening, and please being your membership cards with you as it’s a members only meeting.

 

New memberships will be accepted on the night, for the annual fee of £5.00, and we’ll also be accepting membership renewals on the evening too, and any members that renew between now and the end of the season will go into a draw to win a 2011/12 Chester FC Season Ticket.

 

We’ll also be accepting Seals Lottery applications on the night too, and to make things easier you can download a Seals Lottery form from here or you can collect a form from the Exacta Stadium and bring down to the meeting, or drop off at the Ticket Office at the Stadium.

As 2010 draws to a close, it’s time to pay tribute to the City Fans United membership and the battle to keep football alive in Chester in the past 12 months, which we can all say with a great deal of pride, we achieved.

Junior Blues Quiz Shield a huge success

The very first Junior Blues Quiz Shield was held at a packed Exacta Stadium Blues Bar last Friday night, and the event has been hailed as a complete success.

 

Dave Cartwright, Chairman of the Junior Blues was thrilled at the success of the evening, “It was a great night, and thanks to everyone’s efforts, over £1000 was raised for the Under 16s arm of City Fans United, which will help towards costs of the free Christmas parties for the members taking place this week.”
