Chester FC will become the first club in the country to live stream all of its members meetings on the internet after two successful trials.
City Fans United members will now be able to watch the monthly members meetings from wherever they are in the world. The board hope that this will lead to members who live away from the city feeling more involved in the workings of the club despite their geographical distance.
The first meeting to be streamed will be the formal members meeting on Monday November 2nd, starting at 7.30pm. The AGM on November 26th will also be live streamed.
The board of City Fans United would like to remind members that the deadline for applying to stand for election to the board is this Friday, October 23rd.
It has also come to the board’s attention, yesterday, that some members haven’t received the email inviting applications to the board which was sent out on October 5th. We have checked our IT systems for everyone who has contacted the club about this issue and found that the emails have been sent out to everyone who has been in touch so please check your spam folders. This seems to be a particular problem for hotmail accounts.
Just in case the spam filter on your particular email has rejected the email outright we have reproduced the letter sent to members below, with the relevant forms.
The Boards of City Fans United and the Chester FC Community Trust met before Saturday’s match to discuss their joint strategy moving forward.
This was the first of a series of regular Board to Board meetings we intend holding in the coming months to improve communication between the Club and the Community Trust so that we can work together to enhance our community work and profile.
A wide variety of topics were covered and the two boards agreed on an initial four areas where we will be working together in the short to medium term, namely:
The CFU Board is pleased to announce that the stadium capacity has been increased after a number of important works have been carried out at the Lookers Vauxhall Stadium.
Last December the club were advised of a reduction in capacity to 4,168, but at a recent meeting the Safety Advisory Group and the Council have agreed to increase this number to 4,959. (more…)
The fundraising committee met last night at the Lookers Vauxhall Stadium and were pleased to welcome a number of new faces and elected a new chair.
Ed Jones, Gerry Cummins and John Allman all attended their first meeting and joined Mark Salmon, Geoff Leith, Ian Saxby and Tracey Smith for a very productive meeting. (more…)
The next CFU members meetings and the AGM date have been announced.
The next formal CFU meeting is on Monday September 7 where David Evans will go through the results of the recent Big City Survey.
The next informal meeting is on Monday October 5 with a guest speaker still to be confirmed.
The CFU board have decided to try a different night from the usual Thursday to try and boost attendances at the meetings. At the meeting in September the new streaming service for Exiles will be trialled and it is hoped that this will be available to all CFU members by the next informal meeting in October.
he AGM will take place on Thursday November 26. Applications to stand for the board will open on October 5 and close on October 26. Details about what is required to apply will be released closer to the time, along with the number of vacancies on the board.
Over the course of the close season the club and CFU volunteers have been busy maintaining and improving the stadium.
A huge number of projects have been completed by the stadium maintenance team and a number of local companies have helped us make the stadium look better than ever after the CFU inherited the keys to the ground five years ago. (more…)
