Seals Lottery Winners

It was a day of celebration at the Exacta Stadium on Saturday 21st April, as the Blues lifted the Evo-Stik Northern Premier League trophy and looked to the future as the Blue Square North beckons.

It was also the chance to do the latest Seals Lottery draw, and two Supporters Direct directors, Martin Cheyney and Bruce Byford, were on hand to draw out the winners of the April Draw, and nearly £1200 was given away in prize money, meaning just under £1200 goes to the future development of the Club too!

Congratulations to the April winners, who will all be receiving their cheques very shortly:

1st Prize – Gwyneth Lewis, Chester – wins £521.00

2nd Prize – Jean Piercy & Dave Forgham, Chester – win £390.75

3rd Prize – John Pritchard, Gronant – wins £260.50

We have also just received a new batch of applications for the Seals Lottery, which we are now processing, and if you would like to join, simply download an application form today, and return it to the Exacta Stadium and you could be the next winner!

City Fans United Statement on Supporters Direct Funding

Like many Supporters Trusts around the country, City Fans United, owners of Chester Football Club, are saddened and dismayed by the news that the Football Stadia Improvement Fund (FSIF) have decided to withdraw its funding to Supporters Direct.

The decision to cut funding threatens the very existence of Supporters Direct, and with it their objectives of encouraging wider fan involvement in the running of clubs up and down the country in a sustainable and community-focussed manner.

Junior Blues

Junior Blues LogoThe Junior Blues is a part of the City Fans United supporters group, for Chester fans under the age of 16.

Its first members were registered some 5 months ago, and the membership has now risen to almost 150.The Organisation relies mainly on Sponsorship and Fund Raising activities. The Membership Fee alone is insufficient. It boasts its own committee which is a sub-committee of the CFU, consisting of five people including Chairman, Vice Chairman, Secretary, Treasurer and Fund Raising Officer.

The Junior Blues has its own bank account to ensure that its funds are kept separate from all CFU money. A number of activities have been organised.

The first event was a trip to the National Football Museum in Preston. A coach load of children made the trip, which turned out to be a great day out, and was covered by the Chester Chronicle.

A painting competition is currently under way, with details sent out to all parents of The Junior Blues. A sponsored walk is being planned for the near future, with half of the sponsorship money going to the CFU.

At the age of 16, the Junior Blue would automatically be registered for the adult organisation, if it was so wished. Membership is only £5 and the benefits gained for this nominal sum are well worth it.

Originally there was an extensive induction package that would be received on joining, including Membership Card/Wallet, Scarf, T Shirt, Junior Blues Pen, Badge and at Christmas all members received a Christmas Card. This package was for a limited period only, but an excellent induction package still applies today.

On Joining the applicant will receive a Membership Card/ Wallet with a City Fans United Junior Blue T Shirt, which is still value for money.

We must build for the future for our Football Club, and these children have a big part to play. These youngsters have been neglected in the past for far too long, but the CFU are determined that this will not happen again. We’re building a future for Chester FC together.

Chester City FC Expelled from BSP

Today the member clubs of the Football Conference have voted to expel Chester City FC from the competition.

City Fans United are dismayed and saddened that this situation has been allowed to occur, however we have previously stated our belief that years of financial mismanagement meant that this decision was inevitable.

Problems Ahead for Danish Bid
