CFU Meeting Postponed

Please note that owing to the water damage incurred at the Swansway Chester Stadium on Sunday, a decision has been made to postpone Thursday’s night’s City Fans United members meeting.

Safety is of course paramount in this situation, and at present several areas of the ground are deemed as ‘Out of Bounds’ due to the water ingress and the board are currently in the process of trying to resolve the issues currently being faced and ensuring there is no risk to anyone’s safety within the ground.

We will announce a revised date once we are in a position to do so, but we’d also like to remind those interested in standing for election that they will need to submit their application by Friday 17th August. Please refer to our recent mailing for further details on this. or by reading our previous announcement regarding the upcoming AGM.

Season Tickets Collection Event – Thursday 26th July 7.30pm

Thursday 26th July sees the first chance for Season Ticket holders to claim there much awaited 2018-19 season ticket books, in an event being staged by the Fan Engagement Working Group (FEWG) taking place in the Blues Bar at the Swansway Chester Stadium from 7.30pm.

Those who have purchased Season Tickets will need to bring proof of ID or their till receipt that they were given at the time of purchase with them, to enable them to redeem for the Season Ticket.

The FEWG are extremely thankful to the volunteers from the Ticket Office, who are putting the Season Ticket packs together prior to Thursday night.

We will also have Bern & Jono coming down after they have finished training to give an update as we get closer to the big kick off, and each of the Working Groups will also be represented in the Blues Bar, so please come down and have a chat and see how you can get involved in helping your club.

Naturally we hope that as many Season Ticket holders as possible come down to the event on Thursday night, but if unable to do so, then the Season Tickets will be available to collect from the Ticket Office at the ground from Friday 27th July 9.30am-4.30pm, and then from Monday to Friday the following week.

Please note, that if you have purchased a season ticket in the last 7 days then this may still be in the process of printing, and will be unavailable to collect on the evening.

We look forward to seeing you there!

Race night fundraiser this Saturday!

This Saturday night sees the latest fundraiser for Chester FC take place as we go under starters orders at The Red Lion in Handbridge for Race Night!
It all gets underway at 7.30pm on Saturday with a fun filled night of 10 races to enjoy, and have a flutter on, and maybe win yourself some money in the process.
Race Nights always prove to be amongst the most enjoyable nights and it’s great to have the support of The Red Lion, who are hosting the event to support our fundraising efforts for the Blues, so we’d love as many of you to join us this Saturday night.
Sat Nav for The Red Lion is CH4 7HL.

Former players line up to support fundraising drive

Chester’s Former Players Association is to reunite the club’s best-ever team at a one-off event to raise money for Chester FC’s fund-raising campaign.
This year is the 40th anniversary of Chester’s highest-ever league finish – fifth in the old Division Three (now League One). So while fans often recall the promotion and League Cup semi-final of 74-75 under Ken Roberts, and promotion successes under Harry McNally, Graham Barrow, Mark Wright and Neil Young, the team that recorded Chester’s best-ever finish in the League pyramid was that squad of 1977-78, managed by Alan Oakes.
At a unique event jointly organised by the Former Players Association and the Chester FC Community Trust, the players will reunite for an evening of celebration, nostalgia, and entertainment at the Blues Bar in the Swansway Deva Stadium on Friday April 6th, at 7.30. Tickets priced £15 are on sale now from Chester FC, the price including a hot meal. Proceeds will be split between Chester FC’s fighting fund and the FPA fund.
FPA chairman Alan Tarbuck said: “This has been a difficult season for the football club and the former players of whatever era are as concerned as anyone about the financial situation. We want to add to the amazing efforts already seen from the fans and do what we can to add to the fighting fund. This will be a memorable night and a chance to meet the players who can genuinely claim to be the best team Chester have ever had.”
Players who have committed to attend so far are: Brian Lloyd, Grenville Millington, Bob Delgado, Jim Walker, Nigel Edwards, Ian Edwards, Mike Kearney, Brynley Jones, and Ken Roberts who was the club’s general manager at the time.
Trevor Storton, Stuart Mason and Paul Crossley have all sadly passed away in the intervening years.
