Easyfundraising helping raise money for CFU

City Fans United would like to thank member Martin Hurst, who has just sent a cheque in for £47.46 based on the money raising efforts of those using easyfundraising.org to raise funds for CFU & Chester FC.

More than £570 has been raised, and demonstrates just how easy pennies can become pounds from using easyfundraising.org which enables you to raise money whilst purchasing every day items online, or in some cases, offers where no purchases are needed, but money can still be raised. ‘Come and Join us!’ at the Exacta tomorrow!

City Fans United will be recruiting new members and also taking membership renewals in the Blues Bar before tomorrow’s game against Rushall Olympic.

Jeff Banks, acting Membership Officer, advised “Last season we reached 2800 members, and we have over 900 people who are yet to renew, and what better time to renew or sign up than at the first home game. We’ll have fellow CFU members in and around the Blues Bar on hand to assist with new membership applications, or those who are looking to renew their Adult or Junior Blue memberships.”

Membership of CFU is currently heading towards smashing the 2000 mark, and this season there are going to be added benefits such as discount schemes with businesses across the City, to be launched later this year, as well as the chance to choose the 2012/13 season’s home kit.

Remember, annual membership is only £5.00, and can be paid via cash or cheque (cheques payable to City Fans United with membership number on the back of the cheque please), or you can join or renew online via http://www.cityfansunited.com/ and continue your ownership of the fastest growing Football Club around!

Membership Update

Recently we have seen an influx of Membership renewals and applications, and over 300 have been keyed in the last month which is of course great news, and we hope that many more come through to as City Fans United go from strength to strength!

Many of you have enquired regarding membership cards, and we can advise the following:

Membership Renewals still being keyed

As many of you will know, the current membership period for City Fans United membership expires tomorrow, Thursday 30th June, and the next period of membership begins from Friday 1st July.

We would like to thank those that have renewed either online or offline for the 2011/12 membership, and there are still plenty of forms being received on a daily basis, so if don’t worry if you have not had an e-mail confirmation through as yet – we are hoping to complete all current outstanding keying of renewals by this weekend.

A letter has gone out to all members who have yet to renew to ask for your support for next year by signing up for the 2011/12 membership period – please note though if you have received a renewal confirmation by e-mail this week (up to and including Friday 1st July) then you can ignore the letter as this will have just crossed with keying of the renewal forms.

Please note that confirmation of renewal will only be sent via e-mail due to the costs involved of postage – you can of course check if your membership has been renewed though by logging in to or registering an account on the www.cityfansunited.com website – this will carry your membership details.

New membership cards will not be sent out at this stage, but we will look to do that in the near future, which will incorporate the new City Fans United badge, so for the time being please continue to keep hold of your current membership card.

Thanks to everyone that has renewed so far, and please remember that you can still renew your membership at any point during the next month, and at any of the upcoming friendlies, but the sooner the better as following this grace period, your details will no longer be available once the new season is underway.

Remember, you can renew online today by visiting http://www.cityfansunited.com/ and selecting ‘My Account’ – if you have not registered for this site before, then please ‘Create an Account’ and follow the prompts – if you experience any difficulties, please e-mail membership@cityfansunited.com and we will try to resolve your issue.

Details of the City Fans United AGM will be sent out very shortly, so to ensure you have your say, please sign up or renew as soon as possible!

We thank you for your continued support of City Fans United and Chester FC – and your membership fee alone has helped raise vital income for the Club as it looks towards next season’s Evo-Stik Premier League challenge.

Our City, Our Community, Our Club.

City Fans United are looking for your help next weekend!

City Fans United will be having an exhibit stall at next weekend’s Chester Rocks event at Chester Racecourse, and we are looking for people to assist with the running of the stall which we have been allocated on both Saturday & Sunday throughout the day & evening from 12noon-10.30pm.

If you can spare a few hours during either Saturday or Sunday, or even both days please e-mail media@cityfansunited.com as soon as possible, with the day/hours you will be able to commit to.

All volunteers assisting will be helping CFU gain new memberships, but also the spread the word about City Fans United & Chester FC.

City Fans United Statement on Supporters Direct Funding

Like many Supporters Trusts around the country, City Fans United, owners of Chester Football Club, are saddened and dismayed by the news that the Football Stadia Improvement Fund (FSIF) have decided to withdraw its funding to Supporters Direct.

The decision to cut funding threatens the very existence of Supporters Direct, and with it their objectives of encouraging wider fan involvement in the running of clubs up and down the country in a sustainable and community-focussed manner.

Membership Renewals 2011/12

It’s been a successful season for Chester FC and City Fans United, and our congratulations go to Neil Young, his management team, and of course the players of Chester Football Club for achieving a Championship winning promotion at the first attempt!

Now, we are looking to all members of City Fans United to help push us to the next level, as we enter the summer period where planning for next season continues, and what better way to help than by renewing your CFU membership if you’ve not already done so…if you have then thank you very much, your support is truly appreciated. (Please note, Life memberships from the Chester City Supporters Trust / Chester City Independent Supporters Association that were previously in place will be honoured through City Fans United membership, so no need to renew, but if you would still like to make a donation instead as others have done, then that will also be appreciated but not expected).
