As 2010 draws to a close, it’s time to pay tribute to the City Fans United membership and the battle to keep football alive in Chester in the past 12 months, which we can all say with a great deal of pride, we achieved.

Junior Blues Quiz Shield a huge success
The very first Junior Blues Quiz Shield was held at a packed Exacta Stadium Blues Bar last Friday night, and the event has been hailed as a complete success.
Dave Cartwright, Chairman of the Junior Blues was thrilled at the success of the evening, “It was a great night, and thanks to everyone’s efforts, over £1000 was raised for the Under 16s arm of City Fans United, which will help towards costs of the free Christmas parties for the members taking place this week.”
Another £100+ raised through CFU members
City Fans United would like to thank member Martin Hurst, who has just sent a cheque in for £104.46 based on the money raising efforts of those using easyfundraising.org to raise funds for CFU & Chester FC.
‘Team of the Year’ honour for City Fans United
City Fans United have scooped the honour of ‘Team of the Year’ in the ‘Your Champions’ Awards for 2010 for the Chester area .
CFU were put forward for the award back in August after nominations were received by the Chester Chronicle, part of Trinity Mirror Cheshire group, who along with Scottish Power began to recognise those who make a difference to their Community, and it’s fair to say that the 2700 members of City Fans United have each played a part in reviving football in the Community of Chester.
Special General Meeting on 16th November
City Fans United members are hereby notified of a special general meeting of the society to consider two resolutions to change the financial year and registered office address of the society.

City Fans United celebrates its first birthday today, and what a year it’s been since the organisation was launched back at the Divas Show Bar in Chester one year ago!
University Open Day – Volunteers Required
City Fans United will be promoting Chester FC at Chester University’s Open Day tomorrow (9.30am-1pm) and are requiring Volunteers to help assist during the morning.
It’s the second time City Fans United have been asked to be part of the day when new students arrive at Chester University to see the campus for the first time, and an opportunity for them to learn more about Chester FC, and our involvement in the Community which the club are developing on a weekly basis now.
We do need help tomorrow though, and if you can spare some time to help, please contact media@cityfansunited.com today, in order for full details to be supplied.
Monthly Meeting to take place on October 7th
City Fans United’s next Members Meeting will take place at The Blues Bar on Thursday 7th October, commencing at 8pm and will feature an update from the various board members of Chester FC, and we hope to have in attendance officials from both the management and playing staff.
We are also hoping to have the next Hall of Fame induction at the meeting itself, and there will be a special opportunity for anyone attending the meeting to go into a FREE draw to receive a special Legends Lounge Match Day Experience which will consist of two passes to the Lounge, a full three course meal, along with match tickets for an upcoming game.
