Head of Youth Academy and Football Secretary stands down

The City Fans United Board of Directors can today confirm that Football Secretary Calvin Hughes has resigned his position at the club with immediate effect.

Calvin has also stepped down from his other voluntary role as Head of the Youth Academy.

The Board of Directors would like to record its thanks to Calvin for his tremendous work over the last five seasons and would like to wish him all the best for his future.

The Chester FC Operations Board will pick up the Football Secretary role until a replacement is found whilst the Directors for Youth Development will work with the current Youth staff and coaches to continue the excellent work and progress in the Academy.

Volunteers required this week

The club are asking for volunteers to come down to the club and help out with a number of jobs around the stadium this week ahead of the new season.

The stadium maintenance team has been working flat out over the summer to give the stadium a much needed face lift but with the season fast approaching there are a few last minute jobs which need doing in time for the first match.

Supporters Direct AGM and Volunteers meeting update

Two CFU directors will be going to the Supporters Direct (SD) AGM this evening.

Neil Bellis and Mike Day will be representing the club at the event in Manchester where they will have the chance to network in the afternoon with other fan owned clubs, discuss challenges which face fan ownership and, hopefully, come back with ideas of how to further improve the club. (more…)

Volunteers meeting reminder

Chester fans are reminded that tomorrow night there is a CFU volunteer event in the Blues Bar with a 7pm start.
The event in October last year was very well attended and in the following months a number of volunteer groups were formed to discuss their activities, issues, plans and ideas.
The established groups currently include – media/communications, fundraising, matchday, office/shop, stadium maintenance, governance, finance and match hospitality/legends lounge.
All current volunteers are invited and as we are in constant need of extra help we will welcome anyone who is interested in getting involved.
For existing volunteers this will also be the opportunity to get your new ID badge for the coming season.

Vanarama Big Day Out Tickets

The tickets for the Vanarama Big Day Out Conference Play Off final at Wembley on 17th May have just been received at the Club. Those who purchased vouchers MUST redeem them from the club for an official entry ticket. (The voucher itself will NOT gain entry on the day). There is no difference between adult and children’s tickets.

If you live within reasonable locality of the Deva Stadium (Chester/Deeside/Wirral etc) please bring your voucher(s) asap to the club to obtain your ticket. The ticket office is open 10-4 on weekdays for ticket distribution. If you live at some significant distance from the club (there are many ‘exiles’ who have purchased vouchers) please contact Club Ticket Office (01244 371376 or info@chesterfc.com) asap to confirm your voucher(s) number and confirm/cross check postal address. Tickets will then be mailed out.

Note we have insufficient numbers to currently run a coach to Wembley – another 20 more people will be needed to make the trip economically feasible (expected cost is £20 per person). Please contact club immediately if you would like to add your name to the list. (Close off will be 4 pm Monday 11th).
