Update on Lease Application

City Fans United would like to advise its members and Chester FC fans that a planned meeting with Cheshire West & Chester Council has been deferred to next week, following the submission of CFU’s lease application to bring Chester FC to the Deva Stadium.

We believe that this will allow CWaC sufficient time to come to a decision on the lease, and we continue to be confident that our application for the lease to the Deva Stadium will be approved within this timeframe.

A further statement will be released in due course.

City Fans United and Junior Blues trip

City Fans United Junior Blues have been invited to join the parade at the FC United of Manchester Youth Day at Gigg Lane, Bury on Saturday April 24th, and were making a day out of it. For more information see click here.

Following some kind donations from local supporters, including Newton Athletic YFC, the coach for the children is free. There will also be refreshments on the coach for the children.

City Fans United adult section will also be running a coach for older supporters to go to the game, which is between FC United and Matlock Town. Junior Blues

Junior Blues LogoThe Junior Blues is a part of the City Fans United supporters group, for Chester fans under the age of 16.

Its first members were registered some 5 months ago, and the membership has now risen to almost 150.The Organisation relies mainly on Sponsorship and Fund Raising activities. The Membership Fee alone is insufficient. It boasts its own committee which is a sub-committee of the CFU, consisting of five people including Chairman, Vice Chairman, Secretary, Treasurer and Fund Raising Officer.

The Junior Blues has its own bank account to ensure that its funds are kept separate from all CFU money. A number of activities have been organised.

The first event was a trip to the National Football Museum in Preston. A coach load of children made the trip, which turned out to be a great day out, and was covered by the Chester Chronicle.

A painting competition is currently under way, with details sent out to all parents of The Junior Blues. A sponsored walk is being planned for the near future, with half of the sponsorship money going to the CFU.

At the age of 16, the Junior Blue would automatically be registered for the adult organisation, if it was so wished. Membership is only £5 and the benefits gained for this nominal sum are well worth it.

Originally there was an extensive induction package that would be received on joining, including Membership Card/Wallet, Scarf, T Shirt, Junior Blues Pen, Badge and at Christmas all members received a Christmas Card. This package was for a limited period only, but an excellent induction package still applies today.

On Joining the applicant will receive a Membership Card/ Wallet with a City Fans United Junior Blue T Shirt, which is still value for money.

We must build for the future for our Football Club, and these children have a big part to play. These youngsters have been neglected in the past for far too long, but the CFU are determined that this will not happen again. We’re building a future for Chester FC together.
